Gaia Creams review – Chia &Peach Kernal superpower blend

When we received the Chia & Peach Kernal superpower blend from Gaia we have been a little anxious as we haven’t used a skincare oil in a while! We straightaway looked at its properties and the ingredients which suitable for both of us, despite hang very different skin types. We have already written in more detail about Gaia, their amazing products and company ethos, and this oil was no less perfect. When we tried it the first time, we were mainly interested in the consistency of the oil. Whilst it is quite rich and a small amount goes a long way, it is also really well absorbed. Often, oils are associated with leaving a thick layer and clogging up pored, however this isn’t the case with this product! We have been applying it before sleep, as it might be a bit too heavy if you are doing your make up in the morning in a rush, and you wake up with glowing and well-moisturized skin. The serum is great for sensitive skin or with eczema …

Peace – introducing the new artisan and organic beauty website

It was only recently that Anna posted about our top 3 favourite natural beauty online destinations and so we are extremely excited to share another, very unique website with you – Peace. We had the pleasure of being contacted by Huma, the owner of Peace, who is one of the most passionate people out there, living a healthy and green life, and wanting to share it with others. Hearing stories from people on what motivated them to live healthier and less toxic lives always brings us joy, and Huma’s store is no different. Similarly to us, Huma found it very difficult to switch to natural beauty products due to conflicting information and words such as ‘natural’ not being regulated. As a result, Huma trusted her skin only with handmade organic products which helped her skin to heal, after a skin rash she had developed as a reaction to cosmetics from big and well known brands. She strongly believes that less is more – and we couldn’t agree more, especially that our skin can absorb up …

Where to shop online for green beauty products

Green beauty products become more and more popular these days and the number of new green brands grows. However, the market is still dominated by non-clean brands and it’s not easy to find natural cosmetics in shops. Thankfully, there is a lot of great online shops offering a full range of green beauty products – I find online shopping really convenient, because I can check products’ reviews, compare with others and find the best deal. Also, when I’m in the shop, I tend to grab some items quickly, not giving the purchase a thought because I’m in the rush. When it comes to online shopping, I usually bookmark a product first and think whether it’s worth buying or not. Anyway, let me introduce three of my favourite online shopping destinations to you! 1. Naturisimo We love Naturisimo – it offers free worldwide shipping, the range of products is fantastic and – what is really cool – you can order samples before making a purchase. To get a discount, use SUMMER -10% code at the checkout …

Clean Beauty Wishlist #1

I have never been one of those girls who have flawless skin no matter what – I am the exact opposite. I suffer from eczema, which sometimes gets really serious and unfortunately it always appears on my face, which makes it even harder for me. But since I’m using natural face products on a daily basis I noticed a huge improvement in the condition of my skin. I have always been looking for gentle and eczema friendly products in the pharmacy but they were far from perfect – the majority of them was causing skin irritation, had an intense scent or some chemicals which were making my condition even worse. And then Ewelina came to the rescue, introducing me to natural beauty products and this is something I will be forever grateful for. Probably my bank account is not as happy because these cosmetics are more expensive than the drugstore ones but I believe they are worth every penny. Speaking of which, I prepared a wish list of clean beauty products, as there is still a …

Clean Beauty: Dr Hauschka Volume Mascara review

In Looking for the perfect natural mascara video, I promised you I would test the natural mascaras and let you know my thoughts in a blog post. The product I will review today is Volume Mascara by Dr. Hauschka, which I’m using since then. I have to tell you guys, contrary to Ewelina’s experience, I really like this mascara.   LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE PROS: – First of all it’s free of synthetic preservatives, scents, mineral oils, parabens, silicone and PEG, so it’s safe to use, – It does give my lashes volume – probably not a dramatic one but it’s more than perfect for a daily use, – The brush is thick and handle is long, which makes applying easier, – It doesn’t cause lash clumping, – It has a really pleasant, natural scent, – It’s quite easy to remove, – The packaging is simple and classy – might seem a bit old fashioned, but to me it’s in a good way, since so many mascaras now look like spaceships.   AND …

Gaia Creams – the holistic approach to skincare

Trust me – ‘Less is More’ when it comes to healthy skin care. The key is to support your skin’s natural processes and stimulate its intelligence, not to fight with it. Anna McGurran Founder & owner of Gaia Creams Skin is our largest organ and it absorbs whatever we put on it. Therefore, changing what I treat my skin with has been as important to me as what I eat. Gaia creams were one of the first skincare products I fell in love with almost two years ago when I started my transition to healthier living and now I cannot live without them! The company’s ethos is based on strong ethical and ecological principles, and the idea for the products was born out of passion to provide gorgeous skin care, using non-toxic, cruelty free and vegan ingredients. What I love about Gaia skincare No added perfume ingredients, which I previously found to irritate my skin straight away after using. They have a natural fragrance derived from the ingredients used in each individual cream, often taking you back …

Video: Looking for the perfect natural mascara

We love mascaras that give our eyelashes volume and lengthen them, giving eyes a wide-open effect. But switching it to a natural one can be a challenge. One of us has already embarked on this journey and told the other one off for still using her full of nasty ingredients mascaras!! If, like us, you want to protect your precious eyes, but not compromise on the performance, check out our video in which we talk about 4 natural alternatives. See for yourself how this one turns out 🙂 Have you already tried any natural mascaras? We would love to hear from you!

Video: Think Dirty app – how clean are your cosmetics?

Think Dirty is a name of an application we have recently downloaded and wanted to share our insights on it with you. Using this app, you can quickly scan cosmetics you currently have on your bathroom shelf; personally, we ended up being pretty shocked by the nasty ingredients hiding in some of our everyday beauty products. In the video you will be able to see which brands surprised us the most and how you can look for alternative products. We found this app to be an amazing tool to help us while shopping for cosmetics and we hope you will find it handy too. It’s currently available to download from App Store for free. Let us know in the comments if you checked the app yet and what cosmetics you currently have that shocked you the most.

Antipodes – the natural way to treat your skin

I tested quite a few natural beauty products over the past few months and I can’t wait to tell you all about them. First of all, I wanted to talk about face creams and I will start with one of my favourite brands, Antipodes. The brand is from New Zealand and their products are made of sustainable and traceable ingredients, which are free from parabens, silicones, petrochemicals, sulphates and many more toxic ingredients, which can be found in conventional creams. The packaging they use are made of recyclable materials and their products are not tested on animals. Products I tried so far: Antipodes Rejoice Light Day Cream This cream’s key ingredients are Manuka flower and avocado oil, which heal, are anti wrinkle and provide moisturizing nutrients for the skin naturally. I find this cream perfect for the day. It feels rich but is well absorbed by my skin, even when I started using an oily foundation on top of it. I always worry whether a new face cream will sting my skin and feel uncomfortable, …
