Hi guys, we are back with some more recipes for you and we will try and give you some tasty ones at least twice a week now so stay tuned!;)
I really used to hate porridge, my mum used to force me to have it every morning with some raisins (which I really hate) and it was haunting me until my adult life. Ever since I started my healthy living journey, I kept hearing and reading about oats and how good they are for you. Full of antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals, what more can you ask for?! Finally I gave in and thought “let’s give them oats another chance” and so I went to Holland & Barret and bought the Neal’s Yard Wholefoods Breakfast Porridge Oats. I woke up the next morning and made them freshly with almond milk… I really did not like it. It was too hot, burned my tongue and it wasn’t sweet; it just tasted like childhood mornings! Then as my story goes on, while browsing on Instagram I stumbled across a picture of overnight oats and thought “hmm, they look quite doable and since they are in a fridge overnight I probably won’t burn my tongue again”. I gave it one last shot…and I loved it! It tasted like dessert! I mean, a dessert for breakfast!
Ever since then, I started experimenting and here is a recipe I would like to share with you 😉
½ cup of breakfast porridge oats (Neal’s Yard are yum)
¾ cup of milk (I used soya milk but can be almond or just a regular one)
½ tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of matcha powder
2 teaspoons of chia seeds
Mix it all together (or shake it, whatever makes you happy) and put in a cute Instagram picture worthy cup (or a regular one but cute) and leave in a fridge overnight 😉
I like to top the rest of the cup with a green smoothie, because it gives me even bigger nutritional bomb in the morning and when I dig to get to the oats bit it all mixes together and is just so nice <3 then I add some fruits or nuts.
I really hope you like this recipe and please let me know if you remastered it in any way 😉 There is still so many different ways of eating oats I have to explore…
