Clean Beauty: Dr Hauschka Volume Mascara review

In Looking for the perfect natural mascara video, I promised you I would test the natural mascaras and let you know my thoughts in a blog post. The product I will review today is Volume Mascara by Dr. Hauschka, which I’m using since then. I have to tell you guys, contrary to Ewelina’s experience, I really like this mascara.   LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE PROS: – First of all it’s free of synthetic preservatives, scents, mineral oils, parabens, silicone and PEG, so it’s safe to use, – It does give my lashes volume – probably not a dramatic one but it’s more than perfect for a daily use, – The brush is thick and handle is long, which makes applying easier, – It doesn’t cause lash clumping, – It has a really pleasant, natural scent, – It’s quite easy to remove, – The packaging is simple and classy – might seem a bit old fashioned, but to me it’s in a good way, since so many mascaras now look like spaceships.   AND …

(Green) Beetroot Smoothie

I thought I will continue with the beetroot theme I started on the blog recently and share a green beetroot smoothie recipe with you. Beetroot has an exceptional nutritional value, which is why many consider it a superfood. You can read more in my recent post. The first time I made this smoothie was  after a long day at work – I needed a boost of energy! I fell in love with it as it has hidden leafy greens in it too – the perfect pick-me-up breakfast or or a post workout snack! The colour of just one beet is so overwhelming that it tuned it into a deliciously pretty red that I am completely obsessed with. If you want this smoothie to be less pulpy, you can use a medium glass of beetroot juice instead of a beetroot and put slightly less greens. Ingredients: – Handful of cabbage leaves (you can use other leafy greens) – 1 small beetroot or a medium glass of beetroot juice – 1-2 cups of water (depends on how …

Gaia Creams – the holistic approach to skincare

Trust me – ‘Less is More’ when it comes to healthy skin care. The key is to support your skin’s natural processes and stimulate its intelligence, not to fight with it. Anna McGurran Founder & owner of Gaia Creams Skin is our largest organ and it absorbs whatever we put on it. Therefore, changing what I treat my skin with has been as important to me as what I eat. Gaia creams were one of the first skincare products I fell in love with almost two years ago when I started my transition to healthier living and now I cannot live without them! The company’s ethos is based on strong ethical and ecological principles, and the idea for the products was born out of passion to provide gorgeous skin care, using non-toxic, cruelty free and vegan ingredients. What I love about Gaia skincare No added perfume ingredients, which I previously found to irritate my skin straight away after using. They have a natural fragrance derived from the ingredients used in each individual cream, often taking you back …

The health benefits of beetroot

Beetroot has an exceptional nutritional value, which is why many consider it a superfood. It contains a wide range of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, all of which have amazing health benefits for us. What are the health benefits you can get from beetroots? Beetroots have a unique mix of antioxidants, a bit unusual for red vegetables. For those of you who are interested in the details like me, most vegetables contain carotenoids (beta-carotene in particular), whilst red vegetables get their colour from anthocyanins. However, beets are unique in also including and getting their colour from betalain antioxidant pigment. For this reason, they stand out in their ability to deliver a wider scope of benefits for the body than most other vegetables: Due to their anti-inflammatory properties, they are especially beneficial for heart health, reduction of blood pressure and protection of other organs. Great source of folic acid, potassium, magnesium, as well as vitamins B6 and C. Promote a healthy complexion and hair, and increased energy, mainly through supporting your body in detoxification. Help with stamina …

Style File – Brigitte Bardot

I have always admired Brigitte Bardot – her hypnotising beauty and super feminine style made her my style icon and films she starred in are amongst my favourites. The 50’s and 60’s French bombshell created a unique style, which girls all around the world tried to imitate and some try to even now. Brigitte is timeless – she never really followed any particular trends, but skilfully played with fashion making it work for her. This time, I have mainly focused on the early years of her career and listed 7 of her signature wardrobe pieces. Let’s get started! BALLERINAS Bardot was a huge fan of ballerinas. She popularised them asking Repetto brand in 1956 to design ballet shoes for everyday use – that’s when Cendrillon model was created. You can see her wearing the exact same model in ‘And God Created Woman’ film, which made Brigitte a world-wide sensation. OFF THE SHOULDER NECKLINE (BARDOT NECKLINE) BRETON STRIPED SHIRT 7/8 CROPPED TROUSERS BIKINI Brigitte used to be a true star of French Riviera, earning ‘The Bikini …
